The gathered iconographic material will be compiled in "The Great Book of Graphic Arts from the Second Half of the 20th Century". It will be available in a luxurious edition. Printed using the analogue technology, it will include reprinted art works and one original work signed by the author. The number of books to be published depends on the number of authors whose works will be chosen for the luxury edition. One original graphic work will be placed inside each book. A scholarly publication about the collected iconographic material is an inherent part of the whole project.
Theoretical research will be connected with innovative, material and technological issues and the formal research penetrating the areas common to graphic arts and other media.
The graphic art works collected in the form of the book will be also available in the digital form compatible with various electronic media.
We are going to implement the following actions:
- collecting the graphic art works from the second half of the 20th century
- preparing a scholarly publication applying relevant methodology
- organizing working meetings with art historians specializing in graphic arts
- organizing international conferences and symposia
- creating a website
- publishing "The Great Book of Graphic Arts" (luxurious edition – reprint + original works)
- organizing exhibitions in the EU countries presenting the results of our work connected with cataloguing (the collection of graphic art works: intaglio, planographic printing, relief printing, digital printing) and the scholarly publication.
We are going to achieve the following results:
- collecting the works of the artists who have contributed to the development of graphic arts and their concept
- making the artists who were excluded due to political reasons or because they did not follow the given aesthetic doctrine and their works available for a wide audience
- exchanging experiences among theoreticians and historians of art with reference to the critical assessment of the idea of "printmaking on the edge"
- presenting the works of the artists and critics in the analogue form (exhibitions, presentations, conferences, seminars)
- presenting the collected iconographic and theoretical material in the digital form (Internet publications).
